When we received a request from Mr. Beast—the world’s most famous YouTuber and the top earner in 2021—for a sword-cutting lesson, we were thrilled and honored beyond words!
Today, I’d like to share that unforgettable experience with you.
Among Mr. Beast’s many incredible videos, the theme of this one was “Enjoying a Day Off!”
As many of you who’ve seen the video already know:
・He stayed in one of the most luxurious hotel suites in Japan
・Enjoyed sushi from one of the most expensive sushi chefs
He truly made the most of his time in Japan—and we were deeply honored to be included as one of his experiences!
His staff came to scout our dojo in advance and, after seeing my test cutting, decided to book the lesson. I was truly grateful for their interest and decision!
Due to scheduling constraints, the filming didn’t take place at our main Machida dojo but at a different location.
During the sword-cutting session, not only Mr. Beast but all his team members successfully made clean cuts and experienced the sharpness of a real Japanese sword firsthand.
What’s more, every single one of them was incredibly respectful, polite, and showed deep appreciation for the experience. They were such a wonderful group of people to host.
Because of the tight schedule on the day, we didn’t get to share everything we wanted to.
So, if Mr. Beast ever returns to Japan, we’d love to welcome him again for another lesson.
We’ll be looking forward to that day!
Mr. Beast, if you ever come back to Japan—please be sure to visit us again!
